I have just experienced my first Thanksgiving.

We are expected to pay a fortune for a gym subscription and a second fortune to have a cleaner clean our home.

I often dream of living somewhere with warm weather, blue seas and a hugely better quality of life. Having just come back from staying with friends in Tuscany and the Dordogne this summer, I am beginning to re-think this idealised view.

People complain that the world is becoming the same everywhere …..
